The Thought

Click here for high quality personalized children's books
My niece's Birthday is coming up and I made her a personalized children's book. Wow am I the best aunt ever. (she's 3)
These are really cute and now that I am in college and practically packed away my entire room before I left, I am much more nostalgic than I used to be. Those stuffed animals are great when you buy them, but they don't mean as much when you have them heaped everywhere and have to stuff them in boxes. The personalized things that have memories are the best tokens of childhood. For instance, my best friend made me a scrapbook when I moved away. It is pretty amateurish, but I cherish it. Anyway, that's just my opinion on gift ideas for little kids. (plus, kids are self centered and they love anything with their face on it)

Purses

Extra 10% off and Free Shipping on qualified orders at Portero.com. Shop now with promo code: AFFFALL thru 10/25/09
This gets updated everyday so I just thought I would put one up. I have a very lovely friend who told me I need a new bag. Little does she know that I use my current one to take a ton of bananas back to my room from the dining hall. My latest late night snack obsession has been bananas and peanut butter, but cmon- that has to be better than Reeses Peanut butter cups right? Its funny because I just started liking peanut butter again. It used to be that the smell was horrible to me. And I always hated people's peanut butter breath. ick
okay, way off topic here. Purses was the topic. Portero is all about Louis Vuitton right now. These are not the kind that I can use to steal bananas with, but they are gorgeous. Its always good to have a food purse and a nice purse (and maybe a purse to hold your id that you don't mind getting beer on)
This is a Salvatore Ferragamo Black Suede Evening Shoulder Bag Clutch:

These are still pretty expensive, even with the markdown, but like I said they aren't for carrying bananas and anyone can rock a purse.

Hamlet and Homecoming

$10 Customized Tees

Its Homecoming weekend so everyone is breaking out the customized T-shirts. Sadly, they aren't all that fabulous...
I went to see Jude Law's Hamlet on Broadway the other night. It was very long, but the effects were great. Hamlet was never really my favorite, but Jude Law definitely kept him full of action instead of just soliloquy. Sadly, this was at the expense of the other characters who were blander than white rice. All in All it was worth seeing though.
I hope I can say the same for the Homecoming football game, although the weather certainly isn't going to make it easy...

Bluer Jet

JetBlue Sale

If you are lucky like me and have winter break on or before the 15th of December, then it is a good idea to take advantage of this deal with jet blue. For people flying from big city to big city, there is not better rate. I leave on a Wednesday and fly home for 90$ I don't even want to tell you how much it cost to get over here. Plus, Jet Blue is nice. It's not like stupid annoying United which I only fly to save money, but I really hate. My other fave is Lufthansa, but that's really more for flights to Europe. I will try to come up with a rating system and post that soon.
Anyway, Bon Voyage!

College Books

eCampus.com - Save $2 on all orders over $50

Ahhhh. SO I had to drop my math class and go into a lower level which means I have to buy a new math book and now what do I do with the old one??
luckily Ecampus sells books for cheap and they buy back the books that you need to get rid of. SO even if you really hated your calc class- KEEP the book and don't burn it. That's money in the bank right there.
Still, its kind of a hassle and there is always the old fashioned way of putting of flyers, but then you actually have to deal with people. My advice is to do both and see which gets you more money. Duh!

My M&Ms

Get $15 OFF your order of 5 or 10 pound bulk bags of Personalized MY M&M'S Candies - For your big event!

We had these M&M's at our prom with our school name and class year on each M&M. I am not going to lie, it was a pretty cute detail. Of course, since that kind of thing always puts people over budget, its important to get the best deals. Always Be Browsing is the motto for the frugal shopper. If you keep your eyes open all the time then you are more likely to recognize the actual deals when you see them, so this is something to keep in mind. When someone else is talking about a party or an event, they always like to describe the details to explain if it was a good party or not. Maybe streamers are the first thing you see when you walk into a party, but they aren't what people mention or remember later. And I saw that you can also put someone's face on every M&M as well- There is lots to be done with that.

While Working, Work it

Buy one pair of pants or jeans and get $25 off the 2nd pair at The Limited
Select Sweaters 40% off: 10.9-10.12

The Limited is definitely the place to get some interview clothes or work clothes if you are going to be in an office. They are all about the slacks and the working woman jackets. Plus, they are expensive looking and hugely marked down. And for the same type of clientele, they have a lot of yoga etc stuff. Imagine that- I guess a lot of business types need to do a lot of meditation and exercise. Check out these sale items:

Free Shipping Offers at SHOP.COM

I see you !

Find Old Friends, Lovers, Classmates & More! Find Anyone at NetSleuth.com

Okay... to be honest I am a little creeped out by this, which is weird because that's basically what facebook is. Except, I guess with Facebook, that person knows that he/she is being looked up and even puts up pictures for you to see and gives you updates on exactly where he/she is. So, I guess that whomever you are trying to find doesn't have a facebook and is therefore not even worth finding. Just kidding of course. One thing that is kind of useful about things like these is that you can get background checks which is useful for you if you want to get a job because you know what people will know about you and also if you want to hire someone like a maid or a babysitter and you don't want some weirdo in your house. If my parents had done a background check on my first nanny, they would have found out she was a theif. (but they couldn't have predicted that she would spend hundreds on a Psychic hotline.

Best Buy Laptops

See this Week’s Laptop Offers. Valid 10/4-10/10
Bringing you some Bestbuy deals today because I got laptops on the mind. Mine is kind of being an obnoxious brat (I hope it doesn't know what I am saying about it). So I was looking at other ones- Mine still works though and so I can't justify getting another one just yet. I would recommend NOT getting a Toshiba. Just trust me on that.

Boo! Prices

Halloween Costumes
Halloween-- For all people who aren't kids or don't have kids, this is a time to dress up as slutty as possible or as creatively as possible and preferably both. For those who have money to spend and no creative thoughts- no fear! you can buy a costume. The ones on clearance are between 20 and $30 which isn't so bad and if you and your friends buy them together you can save on shipping. I do not have money to do this right now so I will be stuck trying to be creative, but probably do something lame and then spend the rest of the night blending into the wall so that no one asks me "what I'm supposed to be" . hopefully that doesn't happen- that would be a lame party. anyway, there are some creative things I have seen over the past years that mostly involve nudity in some way. Let me give you the tops:

1. Party at Isla Vista, CA- Girl who was a Saran wrap Mummy- that's right, she was only wearing clear plastic.
2. Guy who was naked inside a box that had suspenders holding it on him. It was pretty awkward to see him dance.
3. Woman who came as a bunch of grapes- In a suit that was attached to huge purple balloons. She really popped (on several occassions)

Also for the beginning of Fall-

Fall Sale at BareNecessities.com. Save on Bras, Panties, Men's Underwear and more! Sale ends 10.06.09.

Fly away Home?

Visit Travelocity for New York Deals
Best Flight Deals to L.A./Long Beach
I think that College is great and everything, but now is of course the time start looking toward the future in terms of breaks as well if you want to find good deals for getting home. As the Holidays near (sort of) I am starting to think of a home cooked meal and therefore my posts of today are in that theme. I am actually choosing between going home to California or visiting relations in Europe. Adventerous me wants to bring friends over to the land where fake IDs are unneccessary and the city is a real life snow globe, but nostalgic me wants home.
We will see who wins and a big part of that is the cost of course. There is apparently a 200$ difference between the two.
Great fares to Europe and beyond on Air France!
